Magnus is the Royal African Society Website Manager and Online Editor. He joined the RAS in 2010 after completing his Masters at SOAS in African Politics. In 2008/09 he worked as a researcher for the British Institute in Eastern Africa based in Nairobi and travelled around the region visiting and working in Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda. Prior to this, he completed his undergraduate degree at Durham University in modern history and first gained an interest in African affairs there. He also wrote and edited for a variety of student publications. Running the RAS website brings together his interests in Africa and journalism. Magnus is the managing editor of the African Arguments website and spends much of his working life commissioning journalists, academics and 'experts' to write commentary on contemporary African politics.
