Our speaker on 29th February will be John Aldridge, who completed his postgraduate studies at SOAS before working in various parts of Africa, first, in teacher training, and subsequently, in publishing, where he ran the Nairobi branch of Macmillan’s. Now based in London, he runs his own independent publishing business.
His illustrated talk will be centred on the book he has recently published about Luka Jantjie and his historical resistance to colonial rule:
‘Images of revolt in Southern Africa in the 19th century.’
