We are planning for 2019 to put in place a programme outline of events geared specifically to our Corporate Members. While these are not yet all firm fixtures in the diary, they give some idea of the pattern for the year.

22 Jan - Visa evidence session for APPG (Parliament)
29 Jan - Africa in 2019; Prospects and Forecasts Panel, SOAS

February
14 Feb - Nigeria’s Elections Panel, SOAS

7 Mar - Book launch for the Handbook of the Ethiopian Economy, SOAS
Tbc - Economies to Watch 1 - Nigerian Finance Minister, Zainab Ahmed
Tbc - possible briefing on Brexit and Africa 
Tbc - possible working lunch with Prime Minister of Mauritius (if his visit confirmed)

Tbc - Economies to Watch 2: an African Finance Minister (en route to or from the IMF/World Bank meetings in Washington DC) Those contacted include Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya, Zambia, Nigeria, Rwanda

Tbc - What is the African Middle Class? SOAS: A 2 hour workshop exchanging views between economists, sociologists, anthropologists and businesses on who are the African Middle Class, how do they define themselves, what do they buy, how do they behave politically and socially?
