Africa APPG

Africa APPG members meeting with AU Chairperson Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma in 2013

2013 marked the 10th year anniversary of the Africa APPG; established with the support of the RAS in 2003 by Hugh Bayley MP and Lord Lea of Crondall. The Group is as active as ever, working to increase understanding of Africa in Parliament.   In July 2013, James Dudderidge became the new chair of the APPG.

RAS would like to thank Hugh Bayley MP for his stalwart work as Chair of the Africa APPG over the past decade: we look forward to continuing to work with him over the coming years.

The Africa APPG remains one of the most active Groups in Parliament and plays a leading role in the informal coalition the APPGs on International Development. Under this umbrella Hugh Bayley MP, Africa APPG Chair, led a Westminster Hall debate on the post-2015 development goals in March.
