RAS council member Susana Edjang is a nominee for the 2015 Women for Africa Awards. Ms. Edjang is nominated in the category of ‘Inspirational Woman of the Year’.
Susana Edjang is an international development, global health and policy expert who currently serves as Economic, Social and Development Affairs Officer for the Executive Office of the Secretary-General, United Nations.
She previously served as an advisor on global health to Lord Nigel Crisp, where she served as researcher on the book, "Turning the world upside down: the search for global health in the 21st century". She is co-author of “Working in International Health” - a unique guide helping health professionals to work overseas. In 2011, she co-founded HIFA-Zambia, the only global e-mail forum on health issues in Zambia.
In 2014, she was named as one of of thirteen professionals selected for the prestigious 2014 Yale World Fellows programme.
Women4africa is a UK registered organisation focused on celebrating and empowering Africa and its women by supporting and celebrating their role in their communities via conferences, supporting education and awarding prestigious awards, recognitions and special honours on such women identified and nominated by the public. The Women4Africa Awards, which is in its fourth year recognises outstanding achievement by women in various fields of endeavour.
